| Purpose | Scale for the Assessment of Positive Symptoms (SAPS) — administration and scoring reference. |
Administration
Use the original interview to elicit positive symptoms and complete the relevant individual and global domain ratings over the specified interval.
Scoring method
Item and global domain ratings; use edition-specific aggregation.
Interpretation & limitations
- Keep domain findings visible and state whether the reported summary uses global ratings or individual items.
- Interpret the findings alongside the clinical interview, functioning, history and relevant physical assessment.
- A domain global rating must not be counted twice by also adding it to every constituent item. Follow the study or manual aggregation convention.
- Use the original instrument and manual for item wording, rating anchors, missing-data rules and any normative conversions. This reference does not establish a diagnosis or select treatment.
